Back from a fabulous week in the wonderful Kansai region, having visited Kyoto, Uji, Nara, Osaka, Himeji and Kobe. Stinking hot ‘n’ sweaty, of course, but nonetheless great to get away from the ‘Shima and the mindless routine of work. Sometimes just to be walking along unfamiliar streets, taking cans of Pocari Sweat from unfamiliar vending machines and buying cheap T-shirts in unfamiliar branches of UNIQLO is enough to recharge the batteries.
